At Cambridge Hire Bins we are driven to ensure all our operations are done to the best health and safety procedures. It is so important to maintain these practices to keep our drivers safe and the people on the sites they are entering.
In light of the recent Health & Safety regulation changes, we would like to reinforce the requirements put in place to ensure the safest use of skip bins, particularly on your busy building sites! New Zealand Land and Transport and OSH Regulations require that bins not be filled past the top rim or out the rear. Objects sticking out of the bin (See images below) are a hazard to your trades on site and our drivers when coming onto your site.
In addition to this there are a number of hazardous waste items we cannot accept, due to the risk of spillage and contamination.
- Chemicals
- Asbestos
- Waste oil
- Paint
- Tyres
Please ensure to comply with these main requirements, as for health and safety reasons our drivers will be unable to collect any bins that are loaded over height, insecurely loaded or loaded with hazardous materials.
Please note, that we would prefer to be informed of any additional hazards when making the order, especially for those sites without hazard registers. That way we can take any precautions necessary prior to arrival.
We appreciate your cooperation going forward to ensure a safe worksite for both your employees and ours.
